(Automotive) This is probably the best stop leak out there. I had noxious coolant steam coming in the cab of my truck. This means a leak in the heater core - very expensive fix, around $800 as the whole dash has to come out. Fixed it right away. NOTE - negative reviews and damage are most likely caused by misuse. If you do not regularly flush your cooling system, you will have problems. If you already have lots of gunk, this will pile on it and cause problems. 1) Get your system flushed first!, 2) Run the engine for at least 45 min(they say 20) and not just at idle, drive it. You can buy a kit to flush it yourself for $20 + $10 for anti-freeze. Every once in a while I would smell coolant so I knew I had a leak somewhere. At the rate of about 8oz every two weeks, I knew it had to be a small pin hole somewhere.I bought the liquid aluminum, read the instructions and followed them to the letter. It is a 4 cylinder car so I only used half a bottle, when the car was cool and while I was topping it off. I let it run 10 to 20 minutes after putting it in. At about the usual two week point, the car started running hot and was still losing coolant. The stop leak did not work. Only now I have the hose to my overflow tank popped off. I changed the thermostat and clamped down the hose. A little while longer the car is running hot and I see the same hose at another point has popped off. I tried some other stop leak steering fluids but they didn't do anything. This White Shepherd stuff works differently for some reason. It is expensive for a small bottle of fluid, but it's the most affordable fix I could find.The instructions say to drive around for a while after putting this in, and I think that really makes a difference. I drove for about 45 mins and still noticed a bit of a leak. I took my car out again later that day for maybe an hour or so and after that no leak. THIS STUFF WORKS!, This review is from: White Shepherd Stop Leak & Conditioner I own a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier wagon with the 3.1L V6 engine. Mine has 90k miles on it. These 3.1s and others of the same 60 Degree V6 family are NOTORIOUS for the ends of the intake gaskets leaking rather profusely. It's about the only real flaw you will find in one. Other side effects might be piston slap noise when the engine is cold, but in a nutshell they have very good power, quick, peppy, strong, but they leak oil like crazy.Mine was so bad, it would drip from half dozen places under the front end, running it on the freeway at 75mph resulted the entire rear of the vehicle being coated in oil so bad, you wouldn't want to touch it. If you kept the crankcase at the full level, it would sling out 2qts of oil a week. The only way to get it not to leak so bad, was keep it about a quart and a half low on oil, which you had to check regularly and add half pint at a time, once or twice a week.
